December 2021 marked my son's very first official visit. He was a high school senior then, carrying all the nerves and hopes that come with waiting for an offer. We boarded a plane to Missouri, and the moment we landed, the whirlwind began. Meetings, tours, introductions-it felt like they had rolled our the red carpet for him.

By the end of the visit, he had an offer in hand. My heart was so full-proud, emotional, and beyond grateful to see his hard work paying off. But that joy came with a surprise. When the numbers were laid out, I realized that even with athletic and academic aid, there was still an out-of-pocket cost.
That was my very first lesson in this journey of college football: not all scholarships are full rides. And it wouldn't be the last lesson I'd learn as a football mom.
This blog is my place to share those lessons-both the highs and the challenges-of raising a son who plays Division 1 football. My hope is to offer encouragement, real stories, and support for moms who are walking this same path.
