Wakeland High School Football Scrimmage
Frisco Wakeland vs Grapevine 8/29/25

It's football season, mamas! The energy is high, the boys have poured their hearts into fall camp, and now it's their time to shine on the field. As proud as we are, I know many of us also carry that little knot of worry in our stomachs—because let's be honest, no mom ever wants to see her son get hurt.

If you feel that mix of excitement and nerves, you're not alone. Here are a few gentle reminders that help me when game-day anxiety creeps in:

1.) Say a prayer before the game—cover your son, his teammates, and even the opponents.

2.) Take a deep breath—ground yourself in the joy of watching your boy live his dream.

3.) Remember the reality—football comes with risks, but our sons are strong and resilient. With support, they'll push through challenges, just like they always have.

So here's to a season filled with big plays, proud moments, and as few injuries as possible. We've got this, mamas—together.
